There are a number of projects that Old Dawgs support that are outside the scope of the barbecue projects and the Military K9 Heritage Exhibit at March Field Air Museum.  We encourage Dawgs, young and old alike, to embrace these projects and we welcome all Red White and Blue Americans to join in.

Comin' Home!

In the early fall of 2010, then SSgt Steve Lewis commenced a year-long tour in Korea (51st SFS/MWD Section,Osan Air Base).  His personal six-month-old Pup, Isis (shown with Vandy KM Jerome Vahalik) needed a place to stay for the duration of Steve's tour.  Vahalik is a Dawgs' Dawg and takes care of his Boots.  A call to the Dawgs Project produced a pair of incredible patriots, willing to care for Lewis' Pooch until his return in June 2011.

On 28 June, somewhere in the High Desert of Southern California, Ron and Kimberly Ratliff reintroduced Isis and now TSgt Steve Lewis (pictured with Lewis' 7-year-old son, Hunter).  An incredible greeting for both Isis (now at a-year-and-a-half) and Lewis ensued.

The generosity and patriotism of Ron and Kimberly is a testament to the support and concern of a great number of Americans who truly care about the well being of our Young Dawgs.

Fallen Brothers
Recognized
at Lackland

Dawgs Committee Member TSgt Angel Landrau (center) is joined by VDHA's Ernie Childers (left) and Kelly Bateman (right) a ceremony at Lackland's MWD Training Center honoring Fallen Dog Handlers in the current Global War on Terror.  The ceremony was conducted on 29 July.
We are very proud of TSgt Lanrau's service to our country and his contributions to the Dawgs Project.  We are equally proud to stand with two fine VDHA members and Thai Dog Handlers: dynamos of the Nemo Memorial, also located at Lackland.
