Vets & Tangos

In today's military the United States Army Veterinary Service is the provider of all medical and health maintenance for Military Working Dogs.  In modern deployments, where the Handlers and Dogs go, so go "The Vets and Tangos!"

Thank a Vet . . .

and the

Veterinarian!

"Doctor Dawg," Major Todd M. Thomas, DVM, shares the "honor wall" at the US Army's Fort Sam Houston Vet Clinic.  All Dawgs know the integral and critical role that veterinarians and vet staff play in the maintenance of the well being, good health, and when necessary, quality recovery of the MWD.

The US Army provides veterinary service to all branches of the US Armed Forces, and we're grateful and proud to share an occasional moment with these fine Americans.

No stranger to the Dawgs Project, Major Thomas (right) confers with Dawgs co-founders Mike Mizak and Ron Carlton at the 2008 Camp Pendleton Feed.

 Thanks,Doc!

Vets Rock!

Tangos is the nick name for "68T" designated MOS, Veterinary Technicians.  Today's MWD Team is seldom very far from prompt medical response for emergencies and day-to-day care.  Our hats are off to the Veterinarians and "Tangos."

NBVC Hosts

Major Vet Capacity

Dr. Michael Straightman, DVM, and son Alex, hosted the Old Dawgs and Dawgs Volunteers for a tour of the Naval Base Ventura County Veterinary Medical Center on 27 August.

NVBC's Vet Center, perhaps one of the most modern of veterinary facilities in the southwest, provides extensive veterinary care and services throughout the entire region to all branches of military and many local and federal enforcement agencies.

The Dawgs Project is proud to have included the NBVC Young Dawgs in the 2011 Calendar, and we look forward to returning next year.
