Military K9 Heritage Exhibit

Phase II

The Military K9 Heritage Exhibit was officially established on 17 October 2009 at March Field Air Museum, March ARB, Riverside, California.  Our very special thanks and appreciation goes out to the Board of Directors of the March Heritage Foundation, Ms. Patricia Korzec, Executive Director of the March Field Air Museum, Ms. Ami Sansweet, Events Manager, Ms. Michelle Sifuentes, Collections Manager, and to the tireless volunteers of the museum that have made the Military K9 Heritage Exhibit a reality.  Additional thanks are due Dr. Jim Stewart (VSPA, VDHA) for his generous donation of exhibit materials, to Dawg's Ambassador Ken Neal for endless materiel contributions, support, and morale boosting, to Fred Dorr of the Vietnam Dog Handler Association (VHDA) for several unique materiel contributions, and to Co-founders Mike Mizak and Ron and Gerry Carlton for their endless hours of dedicated service to the cause of the Feed the Dawgs Project.  Special thanks must be made in recognition of the dedication and hours of hard work provided by Dawgs volunteer James Holguin, Steve Estrada of ITT-Tech/San Bernardino, and Alan Kaul of Auto Graphics Design.

The founders of the Feed the Dawgs project are extremely grateful to U.S. Navy MAC James D. Bruno, CNRSW, for his participation as keynote speaker at the 17 October 2009 Dedication of the Military K9 Heritage Exhibit at March Field Air Museum, Riverside.  Before an audience of nearly one hundred supporters and active duty military dog handlers, James honored the patriotism and dedication of dog handlers past and present.  The Chief, an Iraqi Freedom K9 veteran himself, is a Dawg’s Dawg!  Jim's speech can be viewed on YouTube @

Our hats are off to Feed the Dawgs Co-founder Mike Mizak , who has developed a keen knack for hiding in the background when kudos are passed out.  You're a real "DAWG", Mike.  We cannot thank you enough for all that you've done on the Feed Events and the exhibit.

Most recently, Mike directed the renovation of Marine Sgt. Adam L. Cann's Camp Pendleton MWD Section Kennel Sign.  The sign has been placed and officially dedicated as an integral component of the Feed the Dawgs Military K9 Heritage Exhibit on the quad at March Field Air Museum, Riverside, California.

ITT Technical Institute is recognized for their support and contribution to the Feed the Dawgs "Military K9 Heritage" display.

A Highly Valued Partnership

ITT Technical Institute administrators played an exceedingly important role in the development, planning, and execution of the launch of the Military K9 Heritage Exhibit. From left to right: Larry Burns, ITT's Career Development Manager, Steve Estrada, Chair of the Communications and Game Development Department, Jon Hemp, Co-Founder of Feed the Dawgs, and Mr. Terry Lorenz, ITT's San Bernardino Campus Director,  Steve Estrada was given special recognition and has earned the label "Real Dawg" many times over through his contribution and dedication to the creation of this unique and valued exhibit.
